Jim Spare is the founder of Buildacious, a firm that helps disruptive technology companies scale through periods of transformation.

Jim is a strategic market-facing leader with expertise in leading the growth of disruptive technology businesses to scale and exit.  He has considerable expertise in translating vision into business strategy, building and leading exceptional teams, closing large complex commercial deals, building ecosystems, and raising capital through experience in big and small companies.

He specializes in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enterprise competitive advantage and growth through his current work at AI-native systems integrator, A.Team, and recent role building out new AI-powered platforms as Chief Product Officer at IDC. 

Previously, led Eko through more than 10x revenue growth and a $250M joint venture with Walmart, and served as CEO of Canesta through its acquisition by Microsoft.

Over his career, he’s worked with strategic and financial investors including The Carlyle Group, Sequoia, NEA, Venrock, Walmart, Sony, Samsung, Intel, Honda, and more.  He’s served on the Boards of companies that have been acquired by Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, Twitter, Foxconn, and others.

Jim spent much of his career in Silicon Valley and now lives in New York City.  He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from NC State and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
